We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1. Speed Limits,
Section 24 -255, Schedule 3. 25 mile per hour limit, Paragraph (g) Puna be amended by
revising existing item:
(30) Wright Road, in age FROM ITS SOUTHWESTERN TERMINUS
TO OLOMEA ROAD.
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1. Speed Limits,
Section 24 -255, Schedule 3. 25 mile per hour limit, Paragraph (g) Puna be amended by
adding new item and renumbering as required:
( ) AMAUMAU ROAD.
�) MAHIAI ROAD, FROM ITS NORTHEASTERN TERMINUS TO AMAUMAU
ROAD.
() WRIGHT ROAD, FROM A POINT SIX THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED
EIGHTY -FIVE FEET NORTHWEST OF OLOMEA ROAD TO ITS
NORTHWESTERN TERMINUS.
These amendments are being proposed as a part of a request to review and possibly
increase the speed limit along a portion of Wright Road. A traffic study, which included
a speed and volume count and an intersection, stopping, and passing sight distance
review, justified the increase to 35 mph between the 25 mph sections of Wright Road as
described above.

Traffic Code Amendment - 25 mph speed limit cont'd
Amaumau Road and Mahiai Road are two roads in the vicinity of Wright Road that do
not currently have their 25 mph speed limits in the Hawaii County Code.
