Aloha,
I would like to submit my testimony in support of Bill 296 and the Waimea District Park. I have coached youth sports in Waimea for
the last seven years. There is constant competition for practice and playing fields. In my seven years I've coached teams on the
ankle- twisting, uneven field behind the elementary school, the unprotected wedge of land on Church Row that sits next to the
highway, and the hard - packed, unforgiving earth of Waimea Park that is rarely soft and green due to over use. A new park with ample
playing fields will allow youth and adult sports to thrive in Waimea. Please make this park happen.
