My message to the Committee:
Aloha Chair Wille and Committee Members,
1 support Bill 318 protecting Hawaii's reef wildlife from harmful
aquarium trade starvation and insufficient water volume during
shipping.
In the Eight years 1 have been swimming at Honokaope Bay, 1 have
noticed a SIGNIFICANT, downturn in the reef fish population, To see
yellow tang is now a treat. Yes, there are Roi Grouper spotted
frequently, but, for such a healthy bay, not too many fish left.
1 work at the airport near air cargo, and to see the truckloads of
fish in boxes in the am, from Stokleys Aquariums is both sickening and
maddening. They are cheating our ecosystem.
