My message to the Committee:
Aloha Chair Wille and Committee Members,
I support Bill 318 protecting Hawaii's reef wildlife from harmful
aquarium trade starvation and insufficient water volume during
shipping.
Not only do 1 support the above bill, but I also am for a
moratorium on fish collecting in Hawaiian waters. I have been corning
to the islands to snorkel and scuba dive for several years and have
witnessed the decline of the reef fish populations. I think about what
a great draw this resource has on tourism. I also imagine what the
islands would be like without a healthy fish population. A five year
moratorium could do wonders. One critical part of tile bigger picture
is to pass Bill 318.
