Aloha. This Bill, 318, should just be a precurser to ending wild aquarium fish taken off our
reefs altogether. As is known, the lifespan of live, wild sea creatures sent abroad from our
waters is slow and painful. If these fish on the 40 species list cannot be culltured onshore for
recreational use in home aquariums, they shouldn't be there at all.
Problems with this form of business are many. It benefits almost no one in Hawai'i; it is not
regulated in a manner to know exactly what's being taken; the creatures suffer, die and are
replaced by those that are suffering and dying. Bad Business, bad for Hawai'i. Period
