My message to the Committee:
Aloha Chair Wille and Committee Members,
Judy and I support Bill 318 protecting Hawaii's reef wildlife from
harmful aquarium trade starvation and insufficient water volume during
shipping.
This is a step in the right direction, and the pono thing to do. We
should treat our wild reef fish with more respect, as was done in
times past. It reflects poorly on Hawaiian values if we sell the keiki
of our reefs cheaply, as if we do not value them, and treat them badly
in the process so many die along the way.
