RESOLUTION N0. 202 ~41'C
NAMING OF STREETS IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, STATE OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii is authorized to adopt street names for
unnamed roadways in the County of Hawaii pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22,
Hawaii County Code; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii adopted Resolution No. 410-82 on
July 7, 1982, which named several streets in Ahualoa Homesteads, Hamakua, Hawaii, and
WHEREAS, Members of the Ahualoa Community Association report that street name
signs for these streets were installed in 1981, prior to the formal adoption by the County, and
WHEREAS, addresses have been assigned by the County Department of Public Works in
agreement with the installed street name signs, and
WHEREAS, a conflict between the County's record of the "approved" street names and
its posted street names have continued to cause confusion to emergency and delivery vehicles
providing service to residents on this street;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that said streets, as indicated on Exhibit "A" of this Resolution, be named as follows:
"Kalehua Road" meaning "the lehua flower"
"Kinimaka Road" name of a long-time resident (deceased).
