I Oppose including "electronic vapor devices" in the definition of "tobacco product" in the County of Hawaii, and to prohibit the use of electronic vapor devices in the places where smoking is prohibited. Including electronic vapor devices will not protect the public and makes it that much harder for smokers to quit smoking tobacco products. I oppose treating Electronic Devices similarly to other tobacco products and restricted to the same sale, distribution, and display requirements as cigarettes and other tobacco products. There is no evidence that the emissions are harmful to anyone. I urge you not to pass Bill 302. Let's first get all of the scientific facts and findings. Please do not give in to hyperbole, misinformation and scare tactics. After all, the true goals and objectives are to get smokers off Tobacco which is known to be harmful and where there is hard scientific facts. I'd rather have smokers switch to Electronic Vapor products rather than continue to smoke tobacco. If and when the hard scientific facts are in, we can revisit this bill in the future.
