I sent the following email to Councilmember Dru Kanuha. I submit this to you in support of his bill to ban e- cigarettes
from our public parks and beaches. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding my
statements. Contact by email or phone numbers below my name.
Hi Dru,
I applaud your bill to keep e- cigarettes out of the parks and off the beaches. It's an oxymoron to go to the beach to enjoy
the fresh, clean air, only to have the stench of someone's vape go up my nose!!!!!! Or cigar, or cigarette smoke!! H H H!
Those that choose to indulge in these habits are not considerate and are so unfamiliar with the concept of clean, fresh
air that their sensibilities are affected. What they do permeates to others and is offensive; there's nothing else like it and
it needs to be understood so the rest of us don't have to hold our breath when we pass by this offensive action that puts
stink into the fresh air that we're seeking.
If I bring food to the beach, that doesn't 'offend' anyone, or if I bring something to drink, I'm not offending another
person - there aren't gasses or odors going up a persons nose that have been deemed cancer causing (second hand
smoke) and that smell disgusting.
Please continue to stand your ground for this very important issue!
What is the status of the beach no smoking signs? The last time I was at Magics (August) I didn't see them ...
Aloha,
