SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
WRIGHT ROAD — 35 MPH SPEED LIMIT

We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1. Speed Limits,
Section 24 -257, Schedule 5. 35 mile per hour limit, Paragraph (g) Puna be amended by
adding new item and renumbering as required:
�) WRIGHT ROAD, FROM OLOMEA ROAD AND EXTENDING SIX THOUSAND
SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY -FIVE FEET NORTHWEST OF OLOMEA ROAD.
This amendment is being proposed as a part of a request to review and possibly
increase the speed limit along a portion of Wright Road. A traffic study, which included
a speed and volume count and an intersection, stopping, and passing sight distance
review, justified the increase to 35 mph as described above.
