Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 266, reports as follows:
Bill No. 266 amends Chapter 23, Article 4, Section 23-58 and Article 5, Section 23-68 of the
Hawai`i County Code (2005 Edition, as amended), relating to submission of the preliminary plat
and final plat for an application for subdivision.
The bill was introduced by Karen Eoff to your Committee on July 17, 2014, at which time it was
referred to the Windward Planning Commission and the Leeward Planning Commission; it
received a positive recommendation from the Windward Planning Commission on October 2,
2014; and received a positive recommendation from the Leeward Planning Commission on
October 16, 2014.
This bill requires the subdivider to submit with the written application for a subdivision a
preliminary plat and a final plat that is prepared, stamped and signed by a surveyor; and
increases from 8 to 10 the minimum number of copies required for submittal.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 266 and
recommends passage on first reading.
