Re: Comm. No. 45/Bill No. 10
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 10, reports as follows:
Bill No. 10 was transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 45 dated
December 17, 2014, amends Ordinance No. 14-82, as amended, relating to public improvements and
financing thereof for the fiscal year July 1. 2014 to June 30, 2015.
The following project is added:
PUBLIC" WORKS:
Mauna Kea VIS Access Rd and Parking -- Private
(110.388.5381.23) $55,000
Funds from this project shall be provided from:
Private Contributions: $55,000
Funds for this project will be used by the Department of Public Works to resurface the parking
lot, pave a diagonal parking shoulder, install speed humps, and install lane and traffic -calming
markings. This appropriation represents the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai`i's
proportionate share of the costs of this project.
Pursuant to Section 10-6(e), Hawai'i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget
for that year with a two-thirds vote.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 10, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
