A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KEALAKEHE
PROJECT GRAD FOR PROJECT GRADUATION 2015.
WHEREAS, Project Graduation 2015 is an event that provides a safe, all-night
celebration for graduating seniors from Kealakehe High School, West Hawaii Explorations
Academy, and qualifying home -schools; and
WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
coordinates Project Graduation and has done so since its inception in 2001; and
WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad needs funds to help pay for activities,
entertainment, decorations, food, transportation, gifts, memorabilia, and other expenses
associated with the graduation -night celebration on June 3, 2015; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Kealakehe Project Grad to help pay for
expenses associated with the graduation -night celebration on June 3, 2015; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
