It is my pleasure to nominate Ms. Pauline Ke'ala Lee Loy of Council District 2 to the
County of Hawaii Cultural Resources Commission. Ms. Lee Loy is a lifelong resident of
Hawai'i. She is a retired educator who was previously employed by Kamehameha
Schools Hawaii and the Department of Education.
Ms. Lee Loy previously served as a board member of the Honoka'a Credit Union and
the Neighborhood Place of Puna. She was also the Kamehameha Schools Outreach
Director and served as an advocate for the Keaukaha Community Tutoring Center.
Ms. Lee Loy states that she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she will
serve a term to expire on December 31, 2017.

RE: Nomination of Pauline Ke`ala Lee Loy to the County of Hawaii Cultural Resources
Commission.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Planning to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Planning for placement on its future agenda.
