A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BIG ISLAND WAVE
RIDERS AGAINST DRUGS FOR THE 2015 WEST HAWAI`I'S COMMUNITY BEACH
CLEAN-UP.
WHEREAS, West Hawai`i's Community Beach Clean -Up is scheduled for March 7,
2015, and involves a clean-up of West Hawaii beaches from `Anaeho`omalu Bay to Honaunau;
and
WHEREAS, Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that coordinates the West Hawai`i's Community Beach Clean -Up, which promotes
unity and raises community awareness about the importance of maintaining cleanliness at our
beaches; and
WHEREAS, Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs needs funds to pay for activities,
advertising, transportation, and other expenses associated with this event; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs
for expenses associated with the 2015 West Hawai`i's Community Beach Clean -Up; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
