RESOLUTION NO. 51
STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF A FLAT SCREEN TELEVISION WITH ACCESSORIES, A DVD
PLAYER AND VOLLEYBALL NETS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, the Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center is donating a flat screen
television with accessories, a DVD player, and volleyball nets with a total value of
$4,000 to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized at the Kawananakoa Gym in
Keaukaha to support athletic -based events; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai'i County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawai'i accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to the Queen Lili`uokalani Children's Center, Hilo Unit, 919 Ululani
Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
