Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of a flat screen television with
accessories, a DVD player, and volleyball nets with a total value of $4,000.00 to the
Department of Parks and Recreation. This donation, from the Queen Lili`uokalani
Children's Center, Hilo Unit, 919 Ululani Street, 96720, is to assist coaches and the
Department's staff implement video -based athletic training which will supplement
existing available coaching and training opportunities. The equipment will be used
exclusively at the Kawananakoa Gym.

To accept the donation of a Flat screen TV with accessories, DVD player and volleyball nets from the
Queen Liliuokalani Children's Center, Hilo Unit at 919 Ululani Street, Hilo. This equipment shall be utilized at
the Kawananakoa Gym in Keaukaha to support current athletic offerings. The value of this equipment is
$4,000.00.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Queen Liliuokalani Children's Center, Hilo Unit at 919 Ululani Street, Hilo, is donating a Flat screen TV
with accessories, DVD player and volleyball nets to assist coaches and Parks and Recreation staff to
implement video based athletic training to supplement existing coaching and training opportunities available
to youths and adults. This equipment shall be used for the exclusive use of the Keaukaha Gym.

A DONATION OF A FLAT SCREEN TELEVISION WITH ACCESSORIES, A DVD
PLAYER AND VOLLEYBALL NETS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
