RESOLUTION NO. 53 1 %5 -
RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY
DONATION OF $5,000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, Ms. Carol Ann Crocket is donating $5,000 to the Department of Parks and
Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used for the beautification of the West Hawai'i Veterans
Cemetery; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30,
Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money,
securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the
Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash
donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process;
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of
this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, and Chapter 2,
Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai'i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai'i
accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution
be sent to Ms. Carol Ann Crocket, 1103 Queensgate Drive, Smyrma, GA 30082 to
acknowledge this generous donation.
