Aloha Environmental Management Committee!
It's quite obvious to me, that most of our citizens believe that there must be a different way than burning our trash, and
I urge you to have a thorough discussion on Sustainable Zero Waste Solid Waste programs, and to request a viewing and
discussion of the movie "Racing to Zero, Pursuit of Zero Waste."
Our County already has a program to reduce, reuse, and recycle. That is the scenario our County needs to continue to
work towards.
For our new Councilmembers, I urge you to read the 2009 IRSWMP on the County's Solid Waste Division link; you may
want to request a paper copy for your files and continued usage. It is still vital and important for you to understand
what the SWAC said.
