A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR HAWAII ISLAND HUMANE SOCIETY'S
ANIMAL COMMUNITY CENTER IN KEAUHOU.
WHEREAS, Hawaii Island Humane Society (HIHS) is contracted by the Hawaii
County Police Department to investigate and resolve animal -related complaints and to enforce
animal control law; and
WHEREAS, HIHS provides shelter for animals, animal adoptions, education programs,
and promotes the Spay/Neuter Community Assistance Program; and
WHEREAS, HIHS has built the Animal Community Center in Keauhou, which will help
to improve its services to the animals and the community; and
WHEREAS, HIHS is requesting funds to purchase a permanent sign for the entryway of
its new facility; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Hawaii Police Department to provide funds to Hawaii Island Humane Society for the
purchase of a permanent sign at the new Animal Community Center in Keauhou; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
