No. 1025/ Bill No. 281 <br />Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 281, reports as follows: <br />Bill 281, transmitted by Council Member Karen Eoff, via Communication 1025 dated August 28, <br />2014, amends Chapter 25, Article 6, Division 1, and Article 5 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 <br />(2005 Edition, as amended) to require that Planned Unit Development applications be reviewed <br />and approved by the Planning Commission that holds jurisdiction over the area containing the <br />property for which the application is sought. The intent of this bill is to provide for public input <br />and increased transparency in the approval process by referring applications to the appropriate <br />Planning Commission, and to ensure that applications are compatible with the appropriate <br />community development plan. <br />This bill was introduced by Karen Eoff to Your Committee on September 16, 2014, at which <br />time it was referred to the Windward Planning Commission and the Leeward Planning <br />Commission; it received a positive recommendation from the Windward Planning Commission <br />on December 4, 2014; and received a positive recommendation from the Leeward Planning <br />Commission on December 18, 2014. Communication 70, from Mayor William P.
