Re: Comm. No. 63/ Bill No. 17
Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 17, reports as follows:
Bill No. 17, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication 63 dated December 12,
2014, amends Section 25-8-33 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), by
changing the district classification from Agricultural (A-3 a) to Family Agricultural (FA -1 a) at
Waiakea, South Hilo, covered by Tax Map Key: 2-4-034:045. This bill would allow the
applicants, Melvin and Brenda Morris, to subdivide the property of approximately 3.002 acres
into three lots, to be conveyed to the applicants' children.
This bill received a favorable recommendation from the Windward Planning Commission at its
public hearing on December 4, 2014.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 17 and
recommends passage on first reading.
