A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THREE RING RANCH,
INC., FOR THE TRIMMING AND REMOVAL OF TREES AT THE EXOTIC ANIMAL
SANCTUARY.
WHEREAS, Three Ring Ranch, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is an exotic
animal sanctuary licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture and accredited by both
the American Sanctuary Association and the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries; and
WHEREAS, Three Ring Ranch, Inc., needs funds to pay for the trimming and removal
of trees around the animal enclosures and educational center to ensure the safety of the staff,
volunteers, students, and visitors; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Hawaii Police Department to provide a grant to Three Ring Ranch, Inc., for the trimming
and removal of trees at the exotic animal sanctuary; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
