Dear Chairman Kanuha and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Oliver S. Shimaoka from the South Kohala District to
the Hawaii County Leeward Planning Commission. Mr. Shimaoka is a lifelong resident
of Hawaii. He is the Senior Pastor at New Hope Waimea.
Mr. Shimaoka is the president of Five Mountains Hawaii. He is a board member of
Hawaii Community Foundation, and a past board member of Hospice of West Hawaii.
He states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If Mr. Shimaoka is confirmed,
he will serve a term to expire on March 31, 2019.
