Dear Chairman Kanuha and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Ms. Shelby K. Nahale-a, of Council District 1 to the
Hawai'i County Liquor Commission. Ms. Nahale-a is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. She
is an Organizational Development and School Support Specialist at Lauhapoehoe
Community Public Charter School.
Ms. Nahale-a is a volunteer at the Laupahoehoe Train Museum. She is also the
Laupahoehoe Poetry Club Advisor. She states that she is not affiliated with any political
party. If confirmed, Ms. Nahale-a will serve a term that ends on December 31, 2019,
replacing Greg Gauthier, whose term expired in December, 2014.
