Dear Chairman Kanuha and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Ms. Peggy K. Hilton, of Council District 2 to the County of Hawaii
Police Commission. Ms. Hilton is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. She was employed by the State
of Hawaii Department of Human Services for over 30 years. Upon her retirement in 2013,
Ms. Hilton was the Section Administrator of the East Hawaii Child Welfare Services.
Ms. Hilton is a former member of the Zonta Club of Hilo. She was also a member of many
organizations related to the welfare of children and youth, such as the East Hawaii Children's
Justice Center and HI Hopes to name a few. Ms. Hilton states that she is not affiliated with any
political party. If confirmed, she will serve a term to end on December 31, 2019, replacing
Mr. Leroy Victorine whose term ended on December 31, 2014.
