RESOLUTION NO. 101 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ANEKONA OULI
KANEHOA VFD COMPANY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN APPARATUS
GARAGE.
WHEREAS, Anekona Ouli Kanehoa VFD Company (AOK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that represents the volunteer firefighters that are critical to the support of the
Hawaii Fire Department in responding to emergencies; and
WHEREAS, AOK supports the local volunteer fire company "9 Bravo", which is a
trained and certified fire company that assists the Hawaii Fire Department during emergencies;
and
WHEREAS, AOK is requesting funds to assist in the development of an "apparatus
garage", which will be utilized by the Hawaii Fire Department and its local volunteer company
9 Bravo for storage and maintenance of vehicles and equipment; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to
the Hawaii Fire Department to provide a grant to the AOK for the development of an apparatus
garage; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
