Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
This is to forwazd a resolution transferring $5,300 from the Clerk Council SVC OCE
account into the Mayor's Entertainment Account.
We would like to co-sponsor the 9th Annual Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate Golf
Tournament to be held on February 11-13, 1999, at the Waikoloa Kings' and Beach Golf
Courses. This premiere invitational features 23 college teams internationally, including
host team University of Hawaii at Hilo, the Air Force Academy, Georgia Tech
University, Nagoya University, Pepperdine University, Texas A&M University, UCLA,
University of Southern California and Nihon University to name a few. This event
attracts not only the teams, but their families, friends and scouts who often return to our
island.

RE: Attached Bill for an Ordinance
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regard to Resolution No. 38-99 ,which
transfers funds from the Clerk's Office to the Deparhnent of Research and Development,
waiving said referral from the Committee on Finance in order that appropriate action can be
taken by the Council.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such a waiver be granted.
