This is the first time the Philippines will be represented on the Merrie Monarch stage. 30 dancers, 20 musicians and kokua will be traveling from Los Angeles, California for the festival. The group will give an exclusive special performance for UH students. They will also participate in the Merrie Monarch parade. This is an opportunity for this group to showcase the Philippines' culture during the Merrie Monarch Festival. Such a group is a rare treat for both locals and visitors. Airfare & accommodation is in-kind by the group. Fund trying to collect is for meals and local transportation for the group for 7 days. The group will perform on April 8 at the festival, April 9 they will be doing a presentation for the UH Students at noon, & a benefit show in the evening at the UH gym for recoup other expenses listed above, and April 11 the group will participate on the parade on a 40' truck that is being rented and decorated for the group.
