A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND
RESOURCE CONSERVATION & DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH
EXPENSES RELATED TO TRANSPORTATION AND MEALS FOR PHILIPPINE
CULTURAL DANCE GROUP, KAYAMANAN NG LAHI.
WHEREAS, Kayamanan Ng Lahi ("Kayamanan") is a critically acclaimed nonprofit
organization based in Los Angeles, California; and
WHEREAS, Kayamanan has forged strong collaborative relationships with Philippine -
based dance experts and strives to educate, enrich, and entertain audiences world-wide with
traditional Filipino folk music and dance styles; and
WHEREAS, Kayamanan has been recognized for outstanding leadership by the Los
Angeles City Council and the Philippine Consulate General; and
WHEREAS, Big Island Resource Conservation & Development Council is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization that is requesting funds to offset costs for transportation, meals, and other
associated expenses for Kayamanan's performances at the 52nd Annual Merrie Monarch Festival
and University of Hawaii at Hilo; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Big Island Resource
Conservation & Development Council to assist with expenses related to transportation and meals
for Kayamanan Ng Lahi; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $2,500
CREDITED TO: Department of Research and Development
010.161.5161.60 Tourism Promotion, Misc. Contract Services $2,500
(Big Island Resource Conservation & Development
Council)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
