[ ell Ref 1{7:.. _CI " 1,Q Ref Date MAR,, 0 0 2-._ NqT . f OF NP Zhe Hawaii County Councif hereby presents this certificate to THADDEUS LEVI 09CONNE LCL In Recognition of Achieving the Rank of Eagle Scout Thaddeus Levi O'Connell, it is with great honor that we recognize you for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest advancement rank in the Boy Scouts of America. This award culminates a twelve year scouting career which began at the urging of your first grade teacher, Mrs. Pat Matsuo, to join Hilo Meishoin Cub Scout Pack 50. As a member of that pack you demonstrated early on your love of scouting and the principles which it espouses when you received the Cub Scouts highest award, the Arrow of Light. Upon joining Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Boy Scout Troop 23, you continued to commit yourself to those same principles. Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout not only certifies your fulfillment of requirements in the areas of leadership, service and outdoor skills, but more importantly, your solemn acceptance of certain obligations and responsibilities to your community and country. As with most Eagle Scouts, you have many outside interests, including a passion for music—as you are a skilled trumpet player—and participating on the Hilo High School robotics team. You have had to juggle these extracurricular activities, as well as your family, scholastic and social responsibilities, with those numerous tasks required for your Boy Scouts promotion, the most time consuming of which was your community service project: the construction of a 65 -foot long sidewalk at the Sangha Hall. This multi -phased project involved the coordination of a volunteer effort which included friends, fellow Scouts, and local businesses, and has improved the much -used Sangha Hall by providing a safer and more convenient walking area for those using the facility. As you well know, this honor is as much a reflection of your outstanding qualities and accomplishments as it is of your family's steadfast support. and commitment toward helping you reach your goals, not just in scouting but in all aspects of your life. For that reason, as we also recognize and congratulate your parents, Tim, Jr. and Toni O'Connell, your brother Tim III, and your grandparents, Tim, Sr. and Jeannie O'Connell. Best wishes in all of your future pursui`- aile David Palk fit V e 'e Margaret Wille County of _' a&w u Certificate No. 4767 Dated this8 th day of March, 2015 Hilo, Hawaii
