RESOLUTION NO. 115 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR WAIPIO VALLEY EDUCATIONAL
BROCHURES.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has identified the need to provide
educational brochures for the visitors of Waipio Valley; and
WHEREAS, Waipio Valley is the second most visited spot on the Island of Hawaii,
with Hawaii Volcanoes National Park being the most popular; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that on average, 250,000 to 275,000 people visit Waipio
Valley on an annual basis; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used to print brochures that are designed to share the
history and cultural significance of Waipio Valley and will also include important safety and
informational tips; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to assist with costs associated with printing the
brochures; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
