My message to the Committee: Aloha Chair Wille and AWES Committee Members,
Mahalo for the opportunity!
On January 24th at our annual meeting of the Puako Community
Association, the Board of Directors asked members their position on
Aquarium collecting. Of the approximately 50 persons present none
indicated support for AQ collecting in any form. We therefore
strongly support legislation to ban the industry entirely. In the
meantime the PCA supports this bill to increase survivability of fish
in shipment.
I support Bill 318 protecting Hawaii's reef wildlife from harmful
aquarium trade starvation and insufficient water volume during
'.,. shipping.
