My message to the Committee:
Aloha Chair Wille and AWES Committee Members,
I support Bill 318 protecting Hawaifs reef wildlife from harmful
aquarium trade starvation and insufficient water volume during
shipping.
The reef fish are an important part ofthe ecosystem. Instead of
pillaging and destroying, let's rebuild to restore the fish
population and clean up the reefs to provide the fish a safe place to
thrive. Once they are thriving then responsible and reasonable fishing
practices could be tolerated. But fishing practices the way they have
been are not a long term answer for anything good.
