OPPOSE Resolution 22-14 and any Motion to Appeal the Legal Ruling which Invalidated
Ordinance 13-121
Dear Hawaii Council Member,
I write to quietly request that you vote to oppose Resolution 22-14 and any motion to appeal Judge Barry Kurren's
decision to invalidate Hawai'i County Ordinance 13-121.
This isn't just about supporting "big Ag". Many small farmers oppose Resolution 22-14 and would be hurt by it and
equally hurt by the Ordinance 13-121. If you really connect with our farming constituents, you'll understand the
negative impact on farmers. We need to hold Hawaii State Law and the federal Plant Protection Act" as primary
principles to follow.
Likewise, we need to be able to use all forms of technology for agriculture and follow high quality science based
research, as conducted by the University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources.
