GMO plants have been neutered AND REQUIRE the use of toxic chemicals used along side them. Chemical companies profit from sales for new seeds each year as well as the purchase of the chemicals. The soil beneath the plants is permanently damaged, as well as the run-off to rivers and seas when it rains. Local farmers do not share in these profits, in fact they are put out of business. People who know about GMO food, do not purchase it. It is a great thing to make Hawaii a GMO free state! The papaya trees were knocked down by the recent storm. It's a perfect time to re -plant with organic trees. No GMOs is a good thing. It's outrageous that an over -ruling by a so-called higher authority can prevent implementation of what people spoke for (I gave testimony) and voted for. Respect the people's decision) Overturn this grab for power. Local people have the right to choose! Let's make Hawaii a GMO FREE STATE! Now!
