Subject: OPPOSE Resolution 22-14 and any Motion to Appeal the Legal Ruling which Invalidated
Ordinance 13-121
Dear Council member,
We pack papaya, the GMO Rainbow. We employee over 80 people in Hawaii County and support over 50 grower
families. All this negative GMO stuff is adversely affecting our sales.
This ruling was essentially the same as Kauai. Please don't spend taxpayers hard earned money as they have already
appealed. It is very hard to understand why you take our tax money to drive us out of business.
Better, would be to issue a proclamation (no taxpayer cost) to proclaim Hawaii GMO papaya safe and healthy to eat.
I urge you to OPPOSE Resolution 22-14 and any motion to APPEAL U.S. Magistrate Judge Barry Kurren's decision to
invalidate Hawai'i County Ordinance 13-121.
