RESOLUTION NO. 123 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FOOD BASKET,
INC. TO PAY FOR WAREHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS AND EQUIPMENT AT
NA KAHUA HALE O ULUWINI.
WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission
is to feed the hungry in Hawaii County by preventing the waste of food, educating the
community about hunger, and collaborating with organizations to eradicate hunger and poverty;
and
WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc. needs funds to pay for warehouse improvements and
refrigeration equipment at Na Kahua Hale O Uluwini, which is a Hawaii County housing
project; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Office of Housing and Community Development to provide a grant to The Food Basket, Inc.
for warehouse improvements and equipment at Na Kahua Hale O Uluwini; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Housing Administrator and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
