Miura <br />Deputy Director <br />n <br />m <br />brn <br />p D <br />The State of Hawaii Department of Defense is providing funding under the Department <br />of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Grants Program - FY 2014 to <br />the Hawaii County Civil Defense Department. These federally -derived funds of <br />$185,000 will be used to purchase specialized equipment to enhance the capability of <br />state and county agencies to prevent and respond to incidents of terrorism and other <br />hazards. $350,000 has already been appropriated for this grant. <br />Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating an <br />additional $185,000 to the Department's State Homeland Security Program for FY 2014 <br />account, bringing the total grant appropriation to $535,000. <br />If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Darryl Oliveira, Civil Defense <br />Administrator at 935-0031. <br />eanna S.
