I wanted to give my regards in relation to the vote in hiring Earth Justice and Center for Food Safely in defense of upholding Ordinance 13 -121. 1 am compelled as a citizen of this beautiful island to retain the capacity to keep our legislature within county rule. Matters that directly regard the people of this county should be governed by those who live within it. When you step forward to make this vote which effects every individual on this land mass, do not forget about the native Polynesians and Hawaiians that made this occupancy possible. The risk of life and limb over several weeks, along a treacherous journey to discover this chain of islands would become mute under the jurisdiction of corporate entities such as Monsanto. Our ancestors which put their life on the line to create a better tomorrow for the people to inhabit this land would never have imagined that government would directly overlook their pilgrimage to outsource authoritative discretion. In the canoes that brought sustenance to Hawaii, there were no GMO's to be found. If primitive women and men in hand- made canoes had the capacity to create a nation of thriving people with the organic crops they grew, I believe our developed nation has just that resiliency to rely on those very crops to surmount any sustenance in which we seek. Please do not make this vote in alignment with your pocketbook and the color of your political affiliation. I ask you to make a vote that upholds the GMO ordinance 13 -121, and also a vote that gives acknowledgment and endearment to the lives that were lost in order to make our lives possible here. Many thanks for your time, Ryan Cornett RyanC97(a),aol com 813 - 943 -3528 i r .J N O Comm. no. Ref. To: Ref. Date 'FEB 4 2015
