Aloha Council Members,
I sincerely hope you will vote to accept the assistance of Earthjustice and Center for Food
Safety in defending Hawaii County.
Defending this bill and winning in court means much more than keeping genetically engineered
crops off Hawaii Island and preserving agriculture land, it will set a precedent for county
level control of all matters. Defend county level authority now so we don't have to fight for
it back in the future. The world is watching and every decision has grand consequences, we
will be setting a precedent for not only our county but county level government everywhere.
I also ask you to consider your financial obligations to your constituents. Earthjustice and
Center for Food Safety have generously offered to donate their services, saving the county a
lot of money. We've already voted to defend the county, now lets step up and defend the
county with expert attorneys in this field.
I deeply appreciate your hard work and dedication to this `aina I call home. Together we can
protect and persevere.
Again, I sincerely hope you will vote to accept the assistance of Earthjustice and Center for
Food Safety in defending Hawaii County.
