RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF EQUIPMENT FROM FORTINET
WHEREAS, Fortinet, a network appliance/software security system
manufacturer, is donating a FAP -221 C wireless access point and a 60D Foritgate
network router/switch with a combined value of $2,000 to the Department of
Information Technology; and
WHEREAS, this equipment which was issued to, and utilized by, attendees of
a training session provided by Fortinet to set up a wireless access point and connect
it to the gateway provided, was subsequently donated to said attendees; and
WHEREAS, a County employee from the Department of Information
Technology attended the training session indicated above; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Information Technology recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai`i
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Department of
Information Technology, and the Finance Department.
