Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General for this grant. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $51,525 Hawaii Island SAFE Program Continuation grant. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The Hawaii County Police Department receives continued support in the form of grant funding from The State Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division which is used to improve Hawaii County's reponse and victim services in cases involving crimes against women. Reimbursement for cost only includes SAFE Program operation, coordination and service in the amount of $51,525.00. Agency matching funds to include Salaries & Wages & Fringe Benefits for Lieutenant and Captain in the amount of $17,175.00.
