SUBJECT: Certificate of Recognition Presentation for Council Meeting
I am requesting your approval to present certificates on April 1, 2015, during the Council
meeting. The recipients will be recognized for their achievements and team excellence.
The Honoka`a High School girls basketball team won the Big Island Interscholastic
Federation tournament on February 7, 2015, claiming their second consecutive B.I.I.F
Division II Championship title. They represented the Big Island at the Hawaii High School
Athletic Association tournament on Oahu and captured Honoka`a High School's second
consecutive state championship in girls basketball on February 13, 2015.
The recipients will be in attendance to accept their certificates.
We expect to take approximately ten (10) minutes at the Council Meeting.

Your Honoka'a High School girls basketball team won the Big Island Interscholastic
Federation tournament, claiming its second consecutive Division II Championship title
on February 7, 2015. You represented the Big Island at the Hawaii High School
Athletic Association tournament on Oahu, defeating St. Francis 56-40 and
University High 39-25. You outscored Hawaii Baptist Academy 33-31 during the finals
on February 13, 2015, and you captured Honoka'a High School's second consecutive
state championship in girls basketball. As a member of this basketball team, you have
brought recognition and honor to your family and to your community by
demonstrating the values of team excellence.
On behalf of the Mayor and the Council of the County of Hawai'i, we extend to you our
heartfelt appreciation, and congratulate you for your determination and
