Dear Friends of the Homeless, p
One of~~the most difficult parts of my job as Director of Ka
Hale O Rawaihae is having to raise support to keep the program
operating. You are always afraid someone is going to be offended
some hoa~ or complain about constantly being "hit up" for money.
Such has not been the case, however. More often than not I get
just the opposite response. I often receive donations with
encouraging'notes and words to the effect "we are glad to help."
In such cases these notes are as encouraging as the gifts them-
selves.
Someone has pointed out that as long as my children are
alive ar.d Hied my help, I will need to spend money (to feed them,
clothe them, etc.). Only if my children die or no longer need my
help will Ilstop needing money for them. The same can be said of
the wort. ofjKa Hale O Kawaihae. As long as we continue to feed,
clothe, shelter homeless children we will need money. without the
financii=.1 suupport of people in the community like you, we would
die lclose our doors).
A17 this to say, thank you to each and everyone who supports
the wog}: afiKa Hale O Kawaihae. ,Thank you for your gifts as well
as your encouraging words.
God bless you and mahalo,
- O/~'
