Re: Comm. No. 132/Bill No. 26
Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill 26, reports as follows:
Bill No. 26, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication No. 132 dated
February 10, 2015, amends Section 25-8-33, Article 8, Chapter 25 of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) by changing the district classification from Single Family
Residential -10,000 Square Feet (RS -10) to Neighborhood Commercial — 10,000 Square Feet
(CN -10) at Waiakea House Lots, South Hilo, Hawaii, covered by Tax Map Key: 2-2-036:042.
This bill, which would allow applicant Chedhold, LLC to construct an approximately 3,150
square -foot, single -story medical facility on the property, received a favorable recommendation
from the Windward Planning Commission on February 5, 2015.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill 26, and
recommends passage on first reading.
