RESOLUTION NO. 134 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WEST HAWAII
VETERANS CEMETERY DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION ASSOCIATION, INC.
TO PAY FOR CEMETERY MARKERS AND CHAIRS FOR THE WEST HAWAII
VETERANS CEMETERY.
WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery Development and Expansion
Association, Inc. (WHVCDEA), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization consisting of veteran
organizations, individual veterans and non -veterans that represent a broad spectrum of our
community; and
WHEREAS, WHVCDEA needs funds to pay for cemetery markers to assist in locating
individual graves and folding chairs for services or events held at the cemetery; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the WHVCDEA to pay for
cemetery markers and chairs for the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
