Miura Deputy Director iag A resolution is being introduced by the Council to transfer $10,000 from the Clerk - Council Services Contingency Relief account (District 9) to the Solid Waste Fund. These funds will be used to provide a grant to Recycle Hawaii to support, initiate and facilitate Zero Waste programs at District 9 public and charter schools. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $10,000 to the Department of Environmental Management's Recycling Programs-Cty OCE account within the Solid Waste Fund. The Department of Environmental Management requests that this bill be handled as a companion bill to Council member Margaret Wille's resolution to transfer the funds from the Council Services — Contingency Relief Account. Contract Services B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): Council Member Margaret Wille is proposing to transfer $10,000 out of the Council Services - Contingency Relief Account to the Department of Environmental Management, Transfer to Solid Waste Fund. The discretionary funds from District 9 will be used as a grant to Recycle Hawaii to support, initiate and facilitate Zero Waste programs at the District 9 Public and Charter schools. Council action is requested to amend the Solid Waste Fund budget by increasing revenues and appropriating funds to the miscellaneous contracts account. We request that this bill be handled as a companion bill to Council Member Wille's Resolution to transfer the funds out of the Council Services - Contingency Relief Account and thereby agendized accordingly.
