A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BIG ISLAND SPORTS
HALL OF FAME FOR ITS COMMEMORATIVE WALL OF HONOREES.
WHEREAS, Big Island Sports Hall of Fame is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
recognizes the men and women of the Big Island community who have made significant
contributions to promoting sports and sportsmanship on the Big Island; and
WHEREAS, one of the Department of Parks and Recreation's goals is to promote
sportsmanship and positive support for all sports programs and activities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, or event for which the
grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the
Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Big Island Sports Hall of Fame for its
commemorative wall of honorees; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
