Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $1,000 from the Hawaii
Police Athletic Federation, P.O. Box 1213, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744. This money will be
used for the Police's HIPAL program.
The Police Department requests that this resolution be waived from the Finance
Committee, and be placed on the April 15, 2015 Council Agenda so these funds may be
utilized for the HIPAL program as soon as possible. If there are any questions, please do
not hesitate to call Hauoli Aiona, from the Hawaii County Police Department at 961-
2273.

county police departments. There are no restrictions and it may be used at your discretion for any project or
program for which county funding was not budgeted.
2014 was a stressful year for law enforcement locally, nationally and worldwide. We wish only the best for
you and the Hawaii County Police Department for the coming year!

The Hawaii Police Athletic Federation's Board of Directors has approved a donation of $1,000.00 to be used
for the HIPAL program. A similar donation has been received by the Department in past years.

RE: Resolution No. 158-15 : RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
A MONETARY DONATION OF $ 1,000 TO THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE
DEPARTMENT
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above -referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
